    Recommendation 

    AMWHO is an authentic simulation of the World Health Assembly, where participants will assume the roles of WHO ambassadors, non-governmental organization members, media correspondents, or industry representatives. Participants will engage in debates and discussion surrounding issues of public health. Ultimately, students will craft approaches to address our world’s pressing public health challenges and draft a final resolution to send to the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland.

    Traditionally, the AMWHO Conference is geared towards undergraduate and graduate students in order to create an environment where high-level debate and nuanced discussions can occur. As such, we ask high school applicants to fill out an application to ensure their preparedness at the conference. A component of this application includes a letter of recommendation from someone who can speak to their professionalism for such an event. Please compose a brief letter of recommendation on the applicant’s character and attitude in classroom discussions/debates of this nature. Note: The letter must contain your high school’s official letterhead and a physical signature (not an e-signature) from the recommender. The student will then scan the letter and submit it to the applicant portal.
